Our History |
NAAC is located in a small rural town in Southern New Jersey called Bridgeton. Statics show that Bridgeton, NJ is one of the State’s poorest cities, next to Camden, NJ. NAAC is unique in that the business is operated by members of the local Native American Tribe, Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape. This location will serve as the headquarters for outreach, audit and financial management. Most employees are hired from this location in order to offset the high unemployment rate in the Tribal territory. Client intake and services will be managed at this office.
Over the past forty years, the principals have successfully administered and managed programs which addressed energy savings and fuel assistance, job creation, job training, housing, health disparities, diabetes and alcohol and drug elimination programs and in 1995, the management was instrumental in the founding of the New Jersey Commission on American Indian Affairs. The core principals of this organization have successful management history and policies in place to maintain and build the capacity of its staff through partnerships, workshops, training, and outreach. New ways of delivering this service will be sought continually so as to service those in need. |
